The Saporphonik Project [sei per fon ik] was established to promote change in communities by allowing individuals with impactful ideas to sponsor events.
 
Hershey along with the C.F. Martin Guitar company have come together to establish the Saporphonik Project. The project’s name is a combination of the word Sapor [sei per] (the quality in a substance that is perceived by the sense of taste; flavour) and the word Phonic [fon ik] (Of, relating to, or having the nature of sound.)
 
Both music and chocolate have long been known to have healing and restorative properties.  The Saporphonik Project endows a $50,000 award to 800 individuals chosen from a video submission contest. Individuals must submit a short video in which they describe an event they would like to hold within their community to support positive changes.  (Environmental, social, political, etc..)
 
Individualized community-centric events allow for the gathering of locals to directly support their community. There’s no better restorative impact then when a community comes together to positively change their circumstances and well-being.
